Security and Attachment classes

Description

This class series has been designed to support the emotional development of children who may have additional needs beyond that of other children. The classes are developed in a way to promote conversations about the parent-child relationship, discuss what emotional development is and how a parent can support positive attachments. The class will address how to support other's relationships with your child and how to advocate for your child's individual needs. Classes are a time for the parents to meet and discuss the topics while childcare is provided. Playgroups are a time for the family to play and interact with thier child and develop additional skills on including the whole family while addressing additional supports for your child with special needs. The class schedule is as follow: The first class followed by a homevisit to discuss what the parents want to get out of the play groups sessions and an initial observation of your play interactions. The second class followed by a playgroup session. The third class followed by the last playgroup session. The classes will be about an hour and the playgroups about 30 to 45 minutes.
