Description
CHRISTMAS WISHES TO OUR HEROES OVERSEAS ANYTHING FROM HOME MEANS SO MUCH. IT IS MOTIVATING AND SHOWS OUR SUPPORT. A CHRISTMAS CARD OR A SMALL DONATION FOR THE TROOPS WOULD BE VERY APPRECIATED. A SIMPLE THANKS WILL GO SUCH A LONG WAY THIS HOLIDAY SEASON. If you want to help packing and sign Christmas Cards or donate please come to: VFW - 829 15th Street in Clarkston; on the 12th and the 19st of November from 2:00pm to 6:00pm or until we’re done. Are you aware of the Fact our Soldiers only get two Meals a Day due to Government cutbacks!!! WE NEED DONATIONS FOR POSTAGE!!! CHRISTMAS CARDS AND SMALL ITEMS LIKE: Personal sanitary items; activated Heat Wraps for sore muscles, Icy hot patches, Foot powder, Vitamins etc..; Snack size: Beef Jerky, Snack mixes, Sunflower seeds, Nuts, Cereal bars/Granola bars, Coffee, Hot cocoa mix, Gatorade Powder, M&M’s, Chewing gum, Cookies or Muffins in individual packages; Canned food items like Smoked oysters and sardines; Microwave Popcorn, Soup mix, Macaroni & Pasta that doesn’t need refrigeration; Juice boxes and Drink pouches, Koozies for water or drink bottles, etc..; Board games, Playing cards, Music CDs, Inflatable pillow, Socks, Footbag/Hacky-sac, Magazines Books (these don’t have to be brand new), AA or D size batteries, Air fresheners, etc…(Small sizes and a larger amount of each item would be better to share so each soldier receives one.) Ziploc Bags for keeping things airtight, watertight, and fresher for packing. For security reasons we can’t accept prepackaged Boxes! Beanie Babies! No kidding! (don't buy new ones, collect them from your house and ask your friends)!! As they are really easy for the Soldiers to carry with them and give to the local kids who love them. Beanies are good for boys and girls and better than small plastic toys which will break easily. There is NO more effective ambassador for our country than a Soldier helping the local folks. This is done far more often than the press shows, and quite probably the most important thing a Soldier will ever do. This fundraiser was created by Sebastian Smathers and is sponsored by VFW Auxiliary #1443. Cash donations can be made directly to P1FCU account "Christmas Wishes to Our Heroes Overseas" -or- Tax deductable donations should be earmarked "Christmas Wishes to Our Heroes" and made to : VFW Auxiliary #1443 829 - 15th St. PO Box 241 Clarkston, WA. 99403 Any more questions please call Eva: 509-254-7901 or the VFW Auxiliary Post #1443: 509-758-4219
